The Boys of Summer are Back

At our house, we love baseball season. For quite a few years we had season tickets to the Oakland A’s. We had to give them up when we moved to Reno. It is TOO far to go for a baseball game.

Thankfully, Reno has the AAA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Reno Aces. We still get baseball! This is our third year with season tickets. There is nothing like Opening Day.

It is fun to watch the up and comers and try to guess who will move on to the Show! The ballpark is clean and smaller than a big league stadium. But, there are sing-alongs, activities between innings, and fireworks every Friday.

Do you like to go to sporting events? Who is your favorite team?

Time of Zombies series

I blogged on Tuesday that I’m working on the paranormal ghost series. I’m also working on the next book in the Time of Zombies series.

Zombies in the Grass will hopefully be out before summer.

It is Willa and Danny’s story. Willa Zara is in what is left of the U.S. army outside Sacramento, California. The army is the only life she knows and following orders is what she does. Danny Lopez is the Robin Hood of the foothills, stealing from the army base to feed his ragtag band of children.

When Willa learns what the army is really doing at the base she will have to turn to Danny and his gang to save innocent children wanted for science experiments. With her army skills and Danny’s ability to disappear they just might escape a danger far greater than zombies in the grass.

Book 1 – Love in the Time of Zombies
Book 2 – The Zombie Hunter’s Wife
Book 3 – A Time to Kill Zombies
Book 4 – Zombies in the Grass ~ coming soon.

Graduation Day 2016

Brainy Grandson is graduating middle school and moving on to high school. So is the nephew.

How did that happen? 🙂

Hope everyone is enjoying the annual rite of passage with their children, grandchildren, or themselves.

Summer Wrap-Up

Baseball Equipment Laying on GrassHere in Northern California it will stay hot into October, but you can tell that summer is wrapping up and Fall is on its way with television programming and baseball. My team, the Oakland Athletics, will not be heading into post-season, so we only have a few more games this season. 😦

TheZombieHuntersWife 200x300It has been a productive season with a completed book (The Zombie Hunter’s Wife) on preorder. Releasing October 26th. Click on the cover to preorder today!!

I’m hard at work on a Christmas novella and thinking about the next zombie book.

What is your favorite season?

Summer is here!!

sun clip artIn Northern California summer hits with a vengeance. Last week it was 74, this week it is 104. For a girl who loves Spring and Autumn, I live in the wrong spot. 🙂 We have two seasons; Hot and Dry, which in this drought is very hot and very dry, and Wet and Cold, which we did not get enough of this year. 😦

It seems like the people who need rain get none and the people who’ve had enough rain can’t get it to stop. It would be so nice if it just stayed a nice temperature, easy breeze, some rain for plants, some sun for people.

What is your ideal season or type of weather?

Pet Peeves

You know. Those little habits and things that irk you, but probably aren’t important enough to irk anyone else. Such as:

  • Black socks with shorts. Men, this is directed at you. Buy some white socks or go without. Bonus yuck points if you wear the black socks with sandals. If you are going to wear sandals, lose the socks.
  • Women in business who use their husband’s or a shared email address. You are in business, ladies. If your address is georgeandmarthawashington@gmail.com lose the mister, president or not. Especially gmail, hotmail, or yahoo. It’s free!! Get your own address to be in business.
  • Baggy, low-rider pants. You know who you are, enough said.
  • Any show related to the Jersey shore. Sorry, your 15 minutes are up.
  • Every news show that makes a summer sprinkle into the Storm of the Century and every illness the Next Plague to get viewers and scare people. Michael Crichton was so right. Keep the people afraid and they don’t have the ability to start a revolution.
  • Anything to do with politics, I’ve had enough!!

Do you have any pet peeves? Do you like to write quirky characters with unique pet peeves? Do you like to read characters with some quirky pet peeves?
