There are those moments when you recall where were you when ______ happened. The attack on Pearl Harbor, The end of World War II, the Kennedy Assassination, the Moon Landing, 9/11, the Challenger and Columbia disasters. In a heartbeat, we recall where we were, who we were with, and how it felt to witness history.
I was almost six years old when the news showed the first pictures from the moon. I was enthralled. I was going to be the first female astronaut. I was going to help colonize the moon. I wanted to be a part of history too. It was that kind of moment. If we could put a man on the moon, what else could we accomplish? The sky’s the limit was never more true than that day in the summer of ’69.
Where were you that day?
