Writing with cats — Jill James

I have always loved cats. The husband hates them, or thought he did. Until the daughter-in-law came to live with us and brought her two furbabies. LOL Athena and Aphrodite. They are black short-hairs. Adorable, playful, and noisy. They sleep in the middle of the day and play at midnight. hahahaha

AthenaAthena is the goddess, Queen of the castle. Or so she thinks. She will let you pet her but not pick her up.

Aphrodite is the princess, a queen in training. She is smaller and much more playful.

I would see the posts of writers with cats and I was worried. I’m not, not writing because a cat is on my keyboard. I’m not sitting wrong on my chair because the cat is hogging it. Don’t get me wrong. I love cats, but they are pets, not rulers of the household.

I didn’t need to worry. They will visit when I’m writing. Rub up against my feet. Get a few pettings and go along their merry way. Fortunately, they think the bathroom is much more exciting than my office. 🙂

***note the Oakland A’s name tag. Husband spotted them at Petco and before you knew it, the cats are supporting the family’s favorite team. 🙂
