Writing as a Habit

It has been said that it takes 30 days of doing something every day to build a habit. If that is true why do writers have such trouble writing every day? We whine, we bitch, we moan. “I don’t want to write today. My muse is on vacation. My toilet needs scrubbing. I need to alphabetize my soups.” As writers I’ve noticed we are pretty creative in coming up with excuses and diversions to take us away from our writing.

If you are a writer, maybe having trouble with the daily habit, push yourself. 100 words a day, that’s all we ask.. 50,000 words in a month. Write something every day.
